About me

I have been practicing Tai Chi since age 20. and teaching since age 28. Tew Bunnag is my teacher, based in Girona, he offers reteats year round in many different countries. I have been teaching over 30 years and bring a heart centred, relaxed vibe to my class. . My Tai Chi school in Oban is called Tong Li.

Tai Chi is an ancient Martial Art, a moving meditation you can practice to boost energy, relieve stress, and balance your emotions. It focuses on holistic health or “whole being” health by addressing all of who you are: mind, body, and spirit.

Within the class we also practice Qi Gong. Qi (Chi) means energy and “Gong” means skill or cultivation. So, Qi Gong is "the skill of cultivating your life-force energy." Through gentle movements, matching your breath to the movements, Qi Gong helps you cultivate positive, life-force energy and promote healing from within.

While Qi Gong has ancient origins, its stress-reducing qualities make it perfect for our modern day stresses. Qi Gong can help you stay grounded, centered, and as peaceful as a mountain lake.

The flowing movements, focused breathing, and mindfulness of Qi Gong awaken your body and mind. The basic movements aren't complicated. Qi Gong is commonly referred to as the art of effortless movement..

Some of the researched benefits are: lowing blood pressure, strengthening bones, helping combat osteoporosis, reduce pain, calm the mind, help with balance issues, improve flexibility.

My school is called Tong Li. This is taken from an acupuncture point Heart 5. Tong Li translates to ‘penetrating the interior’. Or in Mandarin Chinese language it pertains to empathy. My classes are a style of Tai Chi learnt from Tew Bunnag, my teacher. He bring heart and compassion to the work and the Tai Chi I bring to my class brings about nourishment for heart, by working on calming the nervous system through exercise and breath. Alongside this I utilise the knowledge of medical Qi Gong to bring a balance of exercises to strengthen all of the organs and systems in the body.
